Rainbow Mugs
Exploring Form and Design: Two Rainbow Mugs in Progress
I’m currently working on two rainbow mugs that are very similar in form, with one smaller than the other. Both share a smooth, inviting shape that feels comfortable to hold, but the rainbow design sets them apart. On one mug, the vibrant colors are separated by fine black lines, adding definition and a graphic quality to the flowing bands. The other mug features a fine carved line between the flowing rainbow hues for a softer, more organic effect.
While these mugs aren’t quite ready for sale yet, they mark an exciting step in experimenting with form and color. Even more inspiring are the ideas I have for future versions—where I plan to refine the shapes further and push the design in new directions. This process of exploration keeps the creative energy flowing as each piece evolves.
The first and smaller of the two mug features a black, dividing line between the rainbow colors.
The second, larger mug does not utilize the black line between the rainbow colors but a small carved line instead.
